This business provides fire & security services across the UK. The focus is on the larger corporate clients and the business has a blue-chip client list typical of a much larger organisation. It employs 20+ staff and additional subcontractors as required. Revenue is derived from (in order of importance) fire-related, CCTV-related and access-related products and installation. Projects tend to be multi-faceted, delivering integrated systems incorporating all security and fire requirements, supporting large commercial, new-build infrastructure projects, spanning most industry sectors.
The owners were introduced to Anderson Shaw by their solicitors after they had received an unsolicited offer for the business. We were asked to carry out a formal valuation of the business and this was expected to give the owners confidence that the offer they had received was fair.
Our valuation, which, like all of our valuations, was prepared on a realistic basis, was considerably higher than the offer. As a consequence, the owners decided to engage us to sell the business.
We found an excellent buyer quite quickly and Heads of Terms were signed well within 6 months of the business going onto the market. The legal stages were more complicated than most, which resulted in a 9 month legal phase through to completion, and we were very much engaged throughout keeping the deal on track.
The owners are absolutely delighted with sale and the substantially enhanced price we were able to achieve for them.
